Stephens Scown selects Pilgrim’s LawSoft to replace Aim Evolution PMS

Stephens Scown LLP is one of the leading firms of solicitors based in Devon and Cornwall offering a broad range of expert business and personal legal services, with over 30 partners and 230 staff based in offices in Exeter, St Austell and Truro.

Having previously used the AIM Evolution system for over 12 years and facing an uncertain future with their existing supplier, Stephens Scown’s project team decided to conduct a full and formal review of the market and selection of a new practice management system (PMS).

Stephens Scown had a number of significant drivers within the selection process:

  • Front-office staff required improved access to financial information and key performance indicators, a comprehensive e-mail and document management tool and improved billing and time-recording facilities.
  • The finance team required significant improvements in reporting together with overall improvements in best practice across all functions.
  • The IT team expressed a preference for a Microsoft SQL-based solution so that all databases in the firm operate on one common technology platform.
  • The Stephens Scown marketing and business development team was looking for a strategic marketing toolkit to support the future development of the practice

Stephens Scown ICT manager Dean Mostert said: “As a practice, we embarked on a very thorough selection process to rank the suppliers under consideration and Pilgrim came out head and shoulders above the rest. The marketing module in particular was well ahead of other systems and LawSoft’s intuitive interface was seen as crucial for our user acceptance.
