DAS appoints head of underwriting

Legal expenses insurer and Legal Futures Associate DAS has announced the appointment of Matt Frost to its senior management team as head of underwriting.

Mr Frost joined the DAS Group in 2008 and has over 20 years’ underwriting and product development experience, including 16 years at Aviva working in a variety of underwriting and product development roles across locations in the south-west, Scotland and London.

Based in the company’s Bristol headquarters, Mr Frost will be responsible for underwriting and product development across all of the group’s distribution channels in the UK and Ireland.

DAS chief executive Paul Asplin said: “Matt has proved himself a great asset to DAS since he joined us and I am delighted to welcome him to our senior management team at a time when there are many exciting opportunities ahead for the group.”

There has been a lot of talk about integration in the legal tech world for many years now, and lately it has become more of a buzzword for legal service suppliers when discussing a link between their services and the client’s existing software. The importance of integration is obvious, and when done well, the benefits are many and varied, but it has become clear that there is some confusion around what a proper integration looks like. In my years as a legal IT director and visiting clients in my current role, it has become clear that integration is a loose term that often means different things to different people.
