An innovative US website that crowdsources advice to legal questions for free is on its way to the UK after it was acquired by online document service Rocket Lawyer, Legal Futures can reveal.
LawPivot provides answers to any legal question submitted online from a network of more than 2,000 lawyers. Customers receive a response from lawyers in the right jurisdiction and with the right expertise within 24 hours. They can continue corresponding with the lawyers to clarify the answer and receive more information.
The benefit for the lawyers is that they can build up a relationship with a potential client and eventually be retained by them.
Like Rocket Lawyer – which entered the UK market in November [2] – LawPivot has investment from Google Ventures.
Charley Moore, the founder and executive chairman of Rocket Lawyer, confirmed to Legal Futures that he plans to bring the service to the UK.

Rocket Lawyer customers in the US will gain immediate access to LawPivot, complementing the existing ‘Ask A Lawyer’ service.
