Full Time (flexible working may be considered)
Salary:£42k c

The Law Society represents solicitors in England and Wales. From negotiating with and lobbying the profession’s regulators, government and other decision makers, to offering training and advice, we’re here to help, protect and promote solicitors.

Operating in an increasingly competitive and commercial environment, it is vital that we develop and deliver relevant products to help meet the changing needs of our members and address threats from regulatory changes and new market entrants.  To help achieve this, a new Product Management function has been created within our Commercial Affairs Division and we are looking to appoint two high-calibre Product Managers to work on our portfolio of accreditation schemes.

Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, these brand new positions are both strategic and hands-on.  Successful candidates will manage their assigned accreditation product(s) to grow new product revenue, retain existing income and drive market (consumer) awareness through the relevance, quality and value of the overall product proposition.  These are pivotal roles and candidates will be the go to person for their assigned area.

The Product Manager will lead and ‘drive’ their products, working in a matrix environment to engage / manage multiple stakeholders to deliver projects in partnership with other functional departments to:

  • Conduct market trends and use research to inform product strategy and lifecycle development.
  • Develop the value proposition for members (law firms or solicitors) and buyers (consumers) and ensure          consistent communication across all channels.
  • Lead the development of robust and innovative ‘go-to market’ plans to achieve revenue targets, increase       market awareness and product usage amongst members and buyers.

The ideal candidate will have consistently delivered against challenging objectives and had significant experience in managing change. They will be commercially minded with extensive experience of creating compelling product offers and ‘go-to’ market marketing and communication strategies. They will be able to quickly establish productive working relationships at all levels in a matrix organisation and be an articulate, persuasive communicator, comfortable engaging at all levels.  They will be familiar with setting clear direction for their products and prioritising resources to achieve performance targets.

If you have a proven track record of leadership in the field of product management, marketing and communications and thrive on new challenges, then this will be a role for you. If you have a passion for execution and delivery and the enthusiasm and commitment to energise others, then we’d like to hear from you.

We offer a comprehensive flexible benefits package, a friendly working environment and the opportunity to develop your career in a professional environment.

I visit a lot of different businesses in the course of my job – both law firms and other types of organisations. This gives me a unique opportunity to compare how the legal sector is shaping up against the commercial world in how they welcome visitors to their business, and it’s fair to say that those that go the extra mile certainly stand out.
