An 11-strong team of senior managers from leading legal expenses insurer DAS [2], has successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise £9,000 in aid of charity, Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal.

The Appeal helps sick children and babies at Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, part of the Bristol University’s Hospital NHS Foundation.

The total height scaled was 3,407 metres in just twenty-four hours, and included shinning up Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,344m); Scafell Pike in England (978m); and Snowdon in Wales (1,085m).

The climbers were made up of eleven members of the DAS senior management team:  Matt Frost, Lyndon Willshire, Paul Timmins, Paul Gibson, Richard Harris, Kathryn Mortimer, Bob Screen, Carol Cluness, Lelita Kaur, Karen Asplin and Rachel Gibson.

DAS head of marketing, Bob Screen, said of the ascents: “It was a lot tougher than I thought it would be.  We have been in training for several months for this and it has brought about a great team spirit.   It’s been an incredible journey and worth every bit of legwork – the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal is a fantastic charity, and we do genuinely believe in giving back to the community where we can.  Thank you to everyone, especially friends, family and our co-workers at DAS, for helping us raise £9,000.”
