Survey says yes to ETSOS

Print [1]Conveyancing technology specialist ETSOS [2] have added Property Assure survey products to their search ordering portal. The new service aims to reduce the stress and costs associated with further investigative work following a Valuation Survey or HomeBuyer Report.

Some 20% of initial surveys indicate that additional inspections should be undertaken, covering a range of defects including structural, asbestos, damp, drainage and Japanese knotweed. Too often buyers are ignoring that recommendation, leaving them to uncover – and remedy – expensive faults at a later stage.

Working with Property Assure, ETSOS is now offering conveyancers access to a UK-wide expert inspection service to cover all customer post-valuation requirements. The service is managed end-to-end, from liaising with the vendor and agent, through arranging the site visit and access, and then to checking and delivering the final report. Critically, the high grade inspection work ensures that the reports are accepted by lenders, avoiding the risk of borrowers wasting money on a further survey only to have it rejected by the lender.

ETSOS managing director Phil Natusch comments: “Further investigation can be a bit of a minefield for everyone, and we wanted to de-risk and simplify things when it came to building the full picture. Buyers often struggle to understand exactly what further inspection they need and struggle even more to find the right supplier who can get the work done to the standards required by the lender. Now conveyancers can just order up a trusted turnkey solution via the ETSOS platform, helping them support their clients with the most appropriate advice and easy access to a fully vetted inspection service.”
