It is fair to say that the renewal in October 2013 was extremely difficult for a large number of firms.  The threat of the Extended Indemnity Period and Cessation Period caused many a sleepless night for those responsible for their firm’s renewal. This year we face the possible introduction of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s requirement for the use of rated insurers only – This could have serious ramifications for many firms.

Willis, a leading broker on solicitors professional indemnity, are hosting a series of seminars across the UK to provide you with an update to the latest insurance and risk management issues facing the legal profession, relevant case law and the latest developments in the ever-changing Professional Indemnity Insurer market for solicitors in England and Wales. It should help firms preparing for renewal and hopefully take some of the stress out of the process.

I visit a lot of different businesses in the course of my job – both law firms and other types of organisations. This gives me a unique opportunity to compare how the legal sector is shaping up against the commercial world in how they welcome visitors to their business, and it’s fair to say that those that go the extra mile certainly stand out.
