Smith Jones Solicitors makes six-figure investment in firm-wide Proclaim practice management solution

Expanding personal injury (PI) law firm Smith Jones Solicitors is implementing Eclipse [1]’s Proclaim practice management software system in a deal valued at over £100,000.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2013, Smith Jones focuses purely on PI claims, boasting accreditation from both the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and Motor Accident Solicitors Society.

The practice manages the full range of claim types, from multi-million pound negligence claims through to routine road traffic accidents. To capitalise on new opportunities in the PI sector, the firm recognised the need to replace its incumbent practice management system with one focused on both client management and life-cycle matter management.

Smith Jones is implementing Proclaim throughout the organisation as its core practice management solution. The system includes the new Proclaim ‘Lead Management’ toolset to provide both pre- and post-litigation CRM functionality. In addition, Smith Jones is planning to use Eclipse’s ‘SecureDocs’ product to provide secure online document delivery and acceptance. SecureDocs enables a fast, seamless method for the injury claims ‘sign-up’ process.

As an integral part of the project strategy, Eclipse is carrying out a conversion of both matter and financial data from the practice’s incumbent software.

Peter Jones, managing partner/director at Smith Jones, said: “It’s a time of real change in the PI sector, with both ABS entrants and new legislation on the horizon. While some practices are worried about the future, we see great opportunities. To capitalise upon the new shape of the personal injury market, a dedicated technology platform is vital. For us, Proclaim is the ultimate choice and one that provides unlimited flexibility as well as market-leading integration with the government’s claims portal system.”
