Saunderson House sponsors the Bar Choral Society Inaugural Concert

Saunderson House is delighted to sponsor the Bar Choral Society Inaugural Concert in the Temple Church on Monday 23 June 2014.

The talented soprano soloist Grace Davidson will be joining the choir which will be conducted by Greg Morris, music director, with the Society’s President the composer John Rutter CBE amongst the audience.

The concert features a series of pieces by Bach, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Handel. Commenting on the sponsorship, Timothy Dutton QC, Chairman of the Bar Choral Society said “Saunderson House has been a stalwart supporter of the professional and legal sectors for many years, and we are delighted that they are demonstrating their commitment to the Bar in this way”.

The rise of the robot lawyer: Some assembly required

We need to move away from using technology to try and recreate the thought-process of a lawyer. The idea is not to build a lawyer’s brain, although we may well want to approximate some of its features. Rather, the potential tech offers is in designing a system that arrives at a similar, if not a more accurate or informed outcome as a lawyer might, by building on the strengths that computers have that humans do not, namely: the ability to simultaneously process large amounts of data, to calculate probabilities more accurately, and to identify patterns and relationships that exist across a large evidence base.
