Quittance Personal Injury announce support for the SIA

Quittance Personal Injury have announced their corporate sponsorship of the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA), the leading national user-led charity for spinal cord injured (SCI) people.

The work that the SIA do helps spinal injury sufferers to live a full and active life.  The charity is there to support people, often immediately following an accident.

The charity is there to assist spinal injury victims with their rehabilitation which – a period when Quittance is also typically involved.

Chris Salmon, operations director at Quittance Personal Injury said “Our work accident department has grown rapidly over the last 12 months.  During this period we have worked with a number of clients who have suffered spinal injuries in the workplace and we have become aware of the important work that the SIA do.

We are pleased to be able to show our support through the SIA Corporate Membership Program”.

Rating lawyers by their wins and losses – a good idea?

Lawyers will give you any number of reasons why their win-loss rates in court are not accurate reflections of their legal skills. Yet a growing number of companies are evaluating lawyers by this standard – compiling and analysing lawyers’ litigation track records to help consumers and businesses make more-informed hiring decisions. The shortcomings of evaluating lawyers by win rates are many. Not least of them is that so few cases ever make it to a win or loss. Of equal concern is that, in the nuances of law practice, it is not always obvious what constitutes a win or a loss.
