One Search Assured

OneSearch Direct, the leading provider of private local searches in England and Wales, have announced the launch of their new OneSearch Assured service.

Announcing the launch, Ronnie Park, Managing Director, said: “Making the buying and selling process as simple, safe and stress free as possible has always been our number one priority. Our market leading searches have been helping buyers feel secure in their purchase for over 21 years, and we’re delighted that we can now offer greater peace of mind with our new OneSearch Assured pack.

“This Complete Conveyancing Protection Pack features all the principal searches required in property transactions, and includes an innovative Residential Abortive Transaction Insurance policy underwritten by DAS, Europe’s leading legal expenses insurer.

Buyers and conveyancers already rely on our data-driven searches to deliver the most accurate and up-to-date information on property in the market place. But, understandably, some are wary about ordering searches until late in the day in case the transaction should fall through and they are left to count the cost.

“Now, by adding insurance which covers up to £1500 of legal fees on aborted transactions, our customers are completely protected no matter what the outcome. This fantastic new wrap-around service combines the best information with the best protection, so housebuyers can make an offer with complete confidence and without the stress.

The new product is great news for conveyancers too. By making it easier to complete searches earlier in the process, any adverse information will be flagged up well before the completion, giving plenty of time to investigate and resolve any problems, or else withdraw safe in the knowledge that fees will be paid no matter what happens. The product is open to all firms, with no exclusions for those already offering no sale, no fee.

Is it time solicitors started taking ethics training more seriously?

mena_ruparel

The requirement for solicitors to behave ethically in modern legal practice is more relevant than ever. Solicitors are still held in fairly high regard by the public, although that esteem is on the wane according to last year’s Trusted Professions poll by Ipsos Mori. Lawyers are less trusted than teachers and doctors but at least we prevail over accountants and bankers. We still hold a position of trust but we must work to hold that position. The current Solicitors Regulation Authority proposals to revise the Handbook are evidence that work still needs to be done.
