Lidia Quinlan, strategic partnerships and panels manager, OneSearch Direct, comments:

“We’re really looking forward to taking part in this property law update, and discussing the many ways we can make lives easier for those involved in commercial property.

“In recent conversations with delegates of Professional Conferences, some have been pleasantly surprised to learn that we offer much more than a standard personal search service. While it’s obvious to many that our flagship product is OneSearch Prime: our Regulated Local Search (backed by £10 million Professional Indemnity Cover), we have a variety of legal services that greatly assist solicitors, including Lawyer Checker and AML & ID checks.

“Providing extra value is something we are very passionate about at OneSearch Direct, as we have always strived to create better options for our clients. We’re excited to demonstrate exactly how we can do this at tomorrow’s exhibition.”

Can’t make the conference?

Rating lawyers by their wins and losses – a good idea?

Robert Ambrogi

Lawyers will give you any number of reasons why their win-loss rates in court are not accurate reflections of their legal skills. Yet a growing number of companies are evaluating lawyers by this standard – compiling and analysing lawyers’ litigation track records to help consumers and businesses make more-informed hiring decisions. The shortcomings of evaluating lawyers by win rates are many. Not least of them is that so few cases ever make it to a win or loss. Of equal concern is that, in the nuances of law practice, it is not always obvious what constitutes a win or a loss.
