Ochresoft launch looking to support under-pressure private client teams

Legal workflow specialist OchreSoft has announced the launch of a comprehensive new solution for legal teams delivering Wills, Probate and LPA related services.

Intelliworks Private Client represents a significant advance on Ochresoft’s existing Probate offering. While full estate administration, probate workflows, IHT form production and online precedent library remain, OchreSoft has now added in specific case support for Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), will drafting and grant-only applications. It is now believed to be the most comprehensive package available for the private client sector; and it is certainly the only one that is completely Cloud-based, fully maintained for regulatory and STEP compliance and dedicated to the unique process and accounting demands of this type of legal matter.

Its development comes in anticipation of unprecedented change in the private client market, as OchreSoft’s Pauline Freegard explains:

“Estate administration and LPA matters are probably the last bastion of ‘traditional’ lawyering, with work largely being done long-hand with only minimal use of tools such as spreadsheets or maybe basic and unwieldy estate accounts packages. As with all Intelliworks modules, Private Client is delivered from the Cloud on a pay-as-you use basis, negating the need for any big technical implementation or capital expenditure. Teams can be up and running in anything from two to five weeks, with all precedents and workflows subsequently updated in real-time by OchreSoft’s own legal team.

Is it time solicitors started taking ethics training more seriously?

The requirement for solicitors to behave ethically in modern legal practice is more relevant than ever. Solicitors are still held in fairly high regard by the public, although that esteem is on the wane according to last year’s Trusted Professions poll by Ipsos Mori. Lawyers are less trusted than teachers and doctors but at least we prevail over accountants and bankers. We still hold a position of trust but we must work to hold that position. The current Solicitors Regulation Authority proposals to revise the Handbook are evidence that work still needs to be done.
