Newcomers join expanding mmadigital team

mmalogo-new200The online marketing agency for the legal sector, mmadigital, has expanded its team once again with a trio of new staff.

In 2014, mmadigital doubled its team and has now welcomed video, PPC and marketing professionals in the New Year.

Lisa Middleton joined the team as head of marketing and communications in November, followed by Jason Westall as PPC executive and Matthew Davies as head of video production this month.

The arrival of the three new team members mark the start of a major recruitment drive as mmadigital has won further business, working with more than 100 law firms across the country. The agency is also preparing to move into new offices at the prestigious Abney Hall in Cheadle.

Lisa has more than ten years experience in marketing, PR and digital across public sector, consumer and business-to-business. Jason brings a wealth of skills in digital work, including PPC and content creation having held roles in writing and digital project management. Matthew is an award-winning video professional having worked in the UK and Australia on programmes spanning news, sport, factual, documentary, film, entertainment, commercials, reality and music.

The legal profession has been on the receiving end of much hype regarding the impact of technology. Recent commentators purport that the aspiring lawyer must be a triple threat, possessing knowledge of the law, coding expertise, and in-depth knowledge of legal technology. Yet, focusing on legal technology risks overlooking the need for skills that transcend latest fads. Legal technology is a means by which to handle data: to organise it, record it, extract it, analyse it, predict from it and leverage it. Quantitative and statistical literacy – the ability to understand, apply, visualise and infer from data – underpins technological literacy and yet receives very little attention from those who encourage innovation in the legal curriculum.
