Motorplus drives forward technology improvements with Converge TS

PrintLeading claims management and insurance wholesaler specialist Motorplus has become the latest new customer of Converge Technology Specialists (Converge TS), the country’s only dedicated Cloud computing provider for law firms.

Converge TS will be providing Motorplus with a fully managed hosted (cloud) desktop service, installing a fully managed data network and rolling out the LexisNexis Visualfiles case management system across Motorplus’s Norwich-based operation.

The move will provide Motorplus’s 120 staff with faster access to client files, enabling them to quickly respond to customer claims and share data with colleagues and management.

Motorplus’s operations director Jason Tripp is looking forward to the benefits that the new technology will bring: “Moving to the cloud and updating our claims management technology will bring significant benefits for Motorplus and our business partners.

“Faster data processing means we are able to access files and update them in real time, giving our management team the reports they require to continuously monitor and improve performance. We’ll also be able to scale up our cloud and new case management system as we grow, making this an extremely cost beneficial investment for us.”

Converge TS managing director Nigel Wright says: “We are delighted to be working with Motorplus. Their move to the cloud, combined with their fully managed data network and new case management system will transform the way they work with staff experiencing a much speedier system and clients seeing a step change in responses.

“We have solid experience of installing case management systems, as well as moving customers onto cloud technology, and are always happy to assess needs and make recommendations about the best option for our customers.”

Converge TS has over 60 UK-based clients including JMW, Bridge McFarland, Linder Myers, O’Neill Patient, Pannone Corporate and Total Conveyancing Services.

Its investment strategy, aimed at maximising the growth of its Cloud services across the UK, is backed by research which pointed out that while only 15% of UK law firms currently use hosted services, by 2018 the figure will rise to close to 85%.

We all know that nothing in life is certain. As the actor, director and philosopher Clint Eastwood once said: “If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster.” He also said he’d tried being reasonable and didn’t like it. They should teach this kind of philosophy in law school. One thing in life is reasonably certain though. If you’re a law firm worth your salt, at some point you will be approached by another entity (most probably a work introducer) with a whizzy idea to ‘partner’ with you to ‘help you accelerate your growth’. In commercial speak this means, ‘we’d like to keep feeding you work but we’d also like to share in your profits’. The arrangement may be pitched to you as a joint venture – a win-win no less.
