Local authority ABS- LGSS Law selects DPS’s practice management system

LGSS Law Ltd provides legal services to more than 100 client organisations from the public and non-profit sectors and is one of the first local authorities to form an Alternative Business Structure.

Gareth Britten, project manager at LGSS Law was heavily involved in the decision-making process and commented: ‘’The brief was to select a modern, flexible and integrated practice management system with a simple user interface enabling improvements to case management, financial control, regulatory compliance, bundling, the quality of services offered and the profitability of the firm. We identified DPS’s practice management software as the best provider of systems to enhance the quality of our legal services.’’

LGSS will be using DPS Software’s systems for the fee earning and accounting sides of the firm.

The end user interface of DPS Outlook Office and its integration with Outlook provides a ‘’pleasant user experience’’ according to Gareth, as all emails, files and accounting information are stored within the same holistic system. ‘’We wanted to give our case workers the tools they needed to access and produce information easier and quicker. Thanks to the case management software from DPS, we will be able to speed up processes and increase productivity, while the automated tasks embedded in the workflows will helps us decrease error rates and enhance the quality of our work.’’ said Mr Britten.

The reporting capabilities of DPS’s Practice management system represented by their comprehensive management reports will give LGSS a deeper insight into the financial health of the practice, allowing them to identify specific areas of profitability as well as areas for improvement.

Osman Ismail, the founding director of DPS said: ‘’We are very excited to be part of LGSS Law’s growth and future plans. They are a very progressive ABS that have already achieved impressive results in a short amount of time. We are eager to be their technology partner and be a part of their success in the years to come.’

What are our considerations when looking to buy home or car cover? I would imagine price would certainly be amongst the considerations, but I’m confident that we would each weigh up whether or not our chosen insurer could meet any claims we might bring, and perhaps as importantly, whether they’d provide us with a hassle-free claims process were the worst to happen. Legal expenses insurance should be no different.
