Leading consultancies collaborate to offer specialist business and marketing support
The 360 Legal Group, which specialises in law firm management, structure and mergers, has announced a new partnership with legal marketing specialists Marketlaw. The two long-established firms are working together to support legal practices that need to adopt, implement and communicate new strategies, structures and direction, ensuring they can do so with the support of a combined specialist business and marketing team.
Whilst 360 Legal Group is predominantly involved in helping law firms restructure, merge and plan strategically for success, Marketlaw acts as an outsourced resource, planning, delivering and implementing marketing strategies using tried-and-tested products and approaches.
The companies believe that their partnership approach will be an attractive proposition for law firms that are looking to move ahead of the field, especially those merging or converting to alternative business structure (ABS) status.
“360 Legal Group working in conjunction with Marketlaw means good financial and strategic advice followed by sound marketing advice,” says 360 Legal Group chief executive Viv Williams. “We believe that this will be especially useful to ABSs and merging law firms who will quickly need to re-evaluate their messages, audiences and processes and how they communicate their new approach to the outside world. 360 Legal Group and Marketlaw are ideally positioned to work together to help them every step of the way.”
The companies, he says, both of which work with law firms ranging from sole practitioners to high street practices to top 200 firms, already share several clients and regularly speak on their respective areas of expertise at the same conferences.
“By bringing together business strategy, a sound financial basis and successful marketing practice we can turn future vision into practical business solutions. We believe ourselves to be the largest operation offering this type of structured approach and believe there is huge potential for us to work together with forward-thinking law firms,” Mr Williams adds.
“360 Legal Group is well known for getting law firms into good structure and shape and enabling them to compete with the new and big-name brands entering the legal market.” adds Marketlaw founder and director Alastair Moyes. “Marketlaw brings the expertise to take the law firm’s new proposition from strategy development to implementation, acting in effect as its expert marketing team.
“All too often senior partners understand where they need to take their business but struggle with implementing the processes that will deliver them the business they desire. It’s important to understand that they need to bring in the expertise to deliver their marketing in the same way that they would bring in the expertise to manage their essential IT services. Expert marketing and processing will be essential to survival going forward.”

Better together?
At the Council for Licensed Conveyancers, we are keen to see more change in the regulation and delivery of legal services before we see a reduction in the number of regulators. But there is one area that we do think is ripe for simplification now and that is in the arrangements for compensation. A single compensation fund across all regulators would bring real consumer benefits and reduce regulatory costs.
