Thomson Reuters Elite announced the launch of Envision™ Mobile to help lawyers using the full-spectrum legal practice management solution run their businesses more efficiently. Envision Mobile, available for the iPad®, enhances lawyer productivity with the ability to record and view time, perform billing and access critical client and matter information on-the-go.

“Envision Mobile gives the power and freedom lawyers need to work smarter by making Envision’s leading-edge functionality available everywhere they go,” said Eric Sugden, chief technology officer of Thomson Reuters Elite. “With remote access to their favorite practice and document management functions, Envision users can access the information they need in a timelier manner, ultimately enhancing the way they manage their businesses.”

Envision Mobile brings fee-earning lawyers the slick and intuitive user experience they expect from their iPad, but loaded with the vital details they need about their clients. It allows lawyers to spend less time focused on the process of getting essential information such as case files, documents and email correspondence, while on-the-go. In addition, features such as the one-touch access to crucial contact information allows lawyers to respond to client requests at a moment’s notice, and time and billing information can be captured more easily as users enter, review, and edit hours straight from their iPads.

Envision Mobile helps simplify workflow for lawyers by allowing them to create and manage case files including documents and emails, record and view time, maintain and manage contacts, and perform billing while out of the office. Furthermore, all work carried out in Envision Mobile is automatically synchronized when a user reconnects to their corporate network.

Envision is one of the most comprehensive business tools available for law firms and includes practice, financial, matter, case, document, and client relationship management solutions. Some studies now estimate that over 50% of businesses have experienced this type of attack in the last year, and it’s particularly prevalent within the legal sector. Previously, firms could protect themselves by having a solid disaster recovery plan in place to ensure they can get back up and running in the event of a disruption. However, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – the new EU-wide regime which comes in effect on 25 May 2018, irrespective of Brexit – means that this approach alone is no longer adequate and security measures must be strengthened to prevent attacks.
