Landmark Information GroupLandmark Information Group, the UK’s leading supplier of digital mapping, property, land and environmental risk data, has announced the availability of a new digital ‘bundle’ package for conveyancers, which provides their homebuyer clients with online access to both environmental risk data and planning application data, via one single order.

Now, each time a RiskView Residential environmental report is ordered alongside a Plansearch Plus report, the environmental and planning application data will be added automatically to an online, interactive map viewer, which helps to visually ‘bring to life’ the findings.

This means homeowners can instantly see where any potential environmental risks may be present within a 250m proximity of the property, in addition to active/pending/approved residential and commercial planning applications up to a 750m radius via the mapped viewer.

Rob Phillipson, Sales and Product Director at Landmark Information Group:  “When we launched RiskView Residential, it was the first report to automatically include access to an interactive portal so the results could be seen via a digital map, as well as via a PDF report.

“We’ve now extended this to our Plansearch Plus report when it is ordered jointly with a RiskView Residential.  Now, from one order, homebuyers can see exactly if environmental risks, energy or infrastructure developments or planning applications are within the vicinity of the address before the transaction completes.

“Plus, by ordering both together, it helps conveyancers provide complete and thorough due diligence to clients.”

Upon ordering the bundle, each report will be dispatched to the client as usual, in addition to a link to the online viewing portal.  There is no additional charge for the use of the interactive service on either report.

RiskView Residential presents the findings previously provided in four separate reports: Flood Risk, Contaminated Land, Ground Hazards, and Energy & Infrastructure, and includes access to the interactive viewer as standard.

The report is further supplemented with clear advice and recommendations from expert environmental consultants, Argyll Environmental.

Plansearch Plus is the most comprehensive planning product on the market, providing conveyancers and homebuyers with a view of a variety of issues, including planning applications, land use designations, housing and neighbourhood demographics and rights of way.

Rating lawyers by their wins and losses – a good idea?

Robert Ambrogi

Lawyers will give you any number of reasons why their win-loss rates in court are not accurate reflections of their legal skills. Yet a growing number of companies are evaluating lawyers by this standard – compiling and analysing lawyers’ litigation track records to help consumers and businesses make more-informed hiring decisions. The shortcomings of evaluating lawyers by win rates are many. Not least of them is that so few cases ever make it to a win or loss. Of equal concern is that, in the nuances of law practice, it is not always obvious what constitutes a win or a loss.
