IM LLP Logo 2015Irwin Mitchell has confirmed that its fast-growing business legal services division has secured a place on the legal panel providing expert advice to National Grid.

Following a competitive bid process, Irwin Mitchell has been named as one of the full service firms on the high profile panel and will provide the international energy giant with legal and strategic advice from a number of its specialist legal teams.

The news was confirmed by National Grid and welcomed by Chief Executive of Business Legal Services at Irwin Mitchell Niall Baker, as a further demonstration of the rapidly growing standing of the firm in the business legal market, an area in which it has invested heavily in recent years and said Irwin Mitchell would now focus on building a strong relationship with the energy firm.

Manchester based real estate partners Anita Weightman and Claire Quinn led the pitch, with support from corporate partners Laurence Gavin and Sarah Riding, litigation expert Matt Leonard, and planning expert Emily Williams.

Anita Weightman said: “This is the beginning of a very exciting partnership with a major UK and international business and we look forward to bringing a fresh outlook to their legal work.

We are delighted that National Grid has chosen Irwin Mitchell to join its full service panel and believe it reflects the reputation we have for offering creative solutions and first-class client care to our growing number of business clients.”

The news comes just a week after Irwin Mitchell announced its Group financial results which showed its income had risen by just under 4% in 2014/15, with profit before tax up 6%.
