IRIS Legal is delighted to announce a major deal with Harold G Walker Solicitors which sees the firm combine a move of its IT systems into a fully managed hosted environment with the introduction of hosted telephony, an upgrade to its IRIS Evolution practice management system, comprehensive IT support and a move of its electronic legal forms from Oyez to IRIS Laserform.

The integrated IRIS Legal Hosted solution will enable Harold G Walker Solicitors to improve efficiency, reliability and business continuity, as well as enabling collaborative working between its four office locations across the Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset area, and providing individuals with the flexibility to operate remotely with the same optimum functionality.

Nicola Lowe, managing partner at Harold G Walker Solicitors, said: “We have a strong relationship with IRIS Legal. We have been a very happy user of the IRIS Evolution practice and case management system for almost 14 years and have always been satisfied with the service and support we have received.

“We recognised the experience IRIS Legal has in deploying successful hosted solutions within the legal marketplace and felt it was the natural choice for us. We have complete confidence in the team’s expertise and ability to deliver and were impressed by the breadth of solutions they are able to offer which extend far beyond legal software. We are looking forward to the benefits this upgrade will provide for the firm and our future.”

Jitendra Valera, chief marketing officer at IRIS Legal, said: “IRIS Legal has a strong track record and an excellent reputation in providing infrastructure and hosting solutions. This saw us receive ‘The Lawyer Award’ last year for best technology project.

“I am delighted that Harold G Walker Solicitors has committed its long-term future to us with this major investment in both products and services and we are excited to continue working closely with them and support their future business strategy. An increasing number of our customers, as well as competitor customers, are now choosing to go with us for all their hosted and infrastructure needs, as we provide one of the best range of offerings in the legal market.”

Lawyers must now draw on the data and drive change

Chris Marston 2014

The results from this year’s legal services consumer tracker survey make for interesting reading. In its sixth year, the research finds that a firm’s reputation continues to grow in importance, holding its top slot as the number one factor influencing choice of lawyer, with price remaining a strong second, reflected in a shift towards higher numbers of fixed-fee transactions. Alongside, it reports that trust in lawyers has declined to 42%, from 47% in 2012. It’s useful information as far as it goes, but what is the sector going to do with it?
