OneSearch200OneSearch Direct, one of the nation’s leading providers of property search information, announces that FOYS Solicitors based in South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire is seeing a 98% conversion rate in conveyancing quotes from the Homebuyer Conveyancing panel since joining three months ago.

The Homebuyer Conveyancing panel, which is rapidly growing in popularity, is managed by We help You Too Ltd and is more than simply a price comparison service: it also provides a search facility around a postcode. The panel uses OneSearch Direct searches for optimum completion times and accuracy of data.

Deana Finch, conveyancing executive, FOYS Solicitors explains:  “The Doncaster region where we are based is a particularly competitive area so we were looking for an innovative way to introduce new business.  A google search brought us to the Homebuying Conveyancing panel and now we are receiving 2-3 referrals per day and enjoying a high conversion rate.

“The OneSearch Direct searches have also received positive feedback from staff,” continues Finch.  “So far we have been impressed.”

Homebuyer Conveyancing is made up of a panel of quality licensed conveyancers and solicitors that cover the counties in England and Wales.  Homebuyers and investors compare detailed conveyancing quotes and then subsequently find their conveyancer without the need to supply their personal details.  Personal details are only entered if they wish to take the quote away.  They can also arrange a time for their conveyancer to call to discuss their quote before instruction.

The system also provides a search facility around a postcode and uses OneSearch Direct’s comprehensive searches to supply an accurate and specifically tailored search pack that covers England and Wales.

Duncan Pattinson, managing director, We Help You Too Ltd confirms:  “We are focused on making the customer experience less stressful for potential clients looking for a lawyer to act for their property transaction.  This is achieved by working with key providers like OneSearch Direct and by developing new business processes, to add value to the lawyer proposition.

“Because we can now provide access to OneSearch’s vast local authority dataset,

we are able to supply the most accurate property searches available for the peace of mind of our customers,” continues Pattinson.  “As well as providing accurate information, the OneSearch searches can be completed in just a few days and so this is also an attractive proposition for our conveyancing clients.   Many law firms from our panel, like FOYS Solicitors, are currently using searches powered by OneSearch Data and as a result are enjoying one click ordering, providing the best value service possible to help enhance all points of the customer journey.”

GDPR and the rise of ‘datanapping’ – the new threat to the pockets of law firms

Nigel Wright

You’ve heard about ransomware – a hacker infiltrates your IT systems, locking them down until you pay a ransom. Some studies now estimate that over 50% of businesses have experienced this type of attack in the last year, and it’s particularly prevalent within the legal sector. Previously, firms could protect themselves by having a solid disaster recovery plan in place to ensure they can get back up and running in the event of a disruption. However, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – the new EU-wide regime which comes in effect on 25 May 2018, irrespective of Brexit – means that this approach alone is no longer adequate and security measures must be strengthened to prevent attacks.
