Elite 200x200Elite Insurance, the general and niche lines insurer, is proud to announce the launch of its Paris based French branch.

The French branch underlines Elite’s commitment to continued growth in the French insurance market. This latest branch compliments Elite’s existing UK, Spanish and Italian branches.

Elite’s CEO, Jason Smart, said in a statement: “The launch of our French branch in January 2015 is a natural move as France is now our second biggest domicile in terms of gross written premium. In 2014 £45.1m of our £125.6m GWP came from the French market. We see fantastic growth potential in the French market within the lines we write”.

Elite currently writes business in a number of classes which include financial lines, motor, pet, property and casualty, legal expenses, warranties and bonding and surety to mention a few, and across a range of jurisdictions. For enquiries ring 0845 601 1221 or visit the Elite website at www.elite-insurance.co.uk.

Woebots and robots

Nadia chatbot

The chances are that you may not be entirely sure what a bot or a chatbot is. So, the news that, “starting today, DoNotPay is opening up so that anyone can create legal bots for free (with no technical knowledge)” may be a bit opaque. But bots have their devotees. The picture is of Nadia, an Australian bot being developed to give information on disability benefits with the voice of Cate Blanchett. The editor of Chatbots Magazine (OK, no neutral source) is pretty clear about their future. He writes articles with titles like ‘How bots will completely kill websites and mobile apps’. Joshua Browder, the creator of the DoNotPay parking ticket challenger, is behind what he hopes will be this major expansion of legal bots.
