Hodges: I’m really excited about helping the existing Conscious team develop their product offering and service proposition

Recently the team at Conscious Solutions was joined by Dan Hodges as head of marketing.

Dan has previously worked in-house at law firms such as The Law Practice as well as providing consulting services for seven years through 360 Legal Group which included a long term placement with Sedgwick Legal.  His legal sector extends to building up a conveyancing panel and a bespoke software platform.

David Gilroy, sales & marketing director commented: “One of our approaches to hiring talent into our team is to hire ‘peer and above’ when we can and we have been able to do just that with Dan.  He comes with deep, hands on, experience of law firms gaining that experience at the coal face of law firm management.  He’s already adding enormous value to our business.”

He continued: “Dan joins us at a time of continued growth in the Conscious business.  Revenue in the first six months of 2014 was up 5.3% compared to the same period in 2013 and I expect that growth to continue for the rest of this year.”

In his role as head of marketing, Dan will be responsible for all marketing activities related to new client acquisition as well as extending Conscious’ reach into existing clients.

On joining Conscious Dan says: “Conscious is a business I’ve known from the outside for more than five years and have been a ‘client’ whilst in-house at a law firm.  So having known what they do, now I’m inside I’m getting to better understand how they do things and more importantly to me why they do what they do.  I’m really excited about helping the existing Conscious team develop their product offering and service proposition.”

Do not fear robot lawyers – fear robot clients

Tech is famous for its shorter and shorter hype cycles. Robot lawyers were all over the twitters only a few months ago and now people actually yell at you for even mentioning the thing. Of course, robot lawyers should not even have surfaced in the first place because no one is remotely close to building them. Lawyers should not fear for their livelihoods. But there is something that is much more important than robot lawyers. It’s robot clients. Or at least the proliferation of machines, automated transactions, and standardized processes where lawyers once controlled the terrain.
