Rapidly growing Brethertons Solicitors has signed a multi-year contract with innovative legal software supplier Peppermint Technology.

Brethertons will implement the award-winning Legal Service Platform across its four offices, replacing its incumbent Advanced Legal Aim (formerly IRIS Aim) and Salesforce systems.

Brethertons is bucking the industry trend of law firms downsizing by continuing to grow steadily to 218 staff. Headcount has increased by almost a third in the last few years and the firm has doubled in size over the last decade. In 2013 so far, the firm recruited 30 new staff and appointed 5 more partners.

Clearly a successful and forward-thinking law firm, Brethertons recognised the need to move from a traditional legacy IT system to support its continued growth. Peppermint’s modern software platform, built on industry-standard Microsoft Dynamics technology, enables the firm to be client centric in all its activities.

The speed and advancement of technology consumption, by both business and consumers, means that law firms using older systems will be left behind. The huge investment that Microsoft is making in Dynamics will ensure that Brethertons will always be at the forefront of technology advancement, and can leverage this advantage to stay ahead of the competition.

The firm evaluated a wide range of solutions in the market over a 12 month period, and was assisted by the Neil Cameron Consulting Group throughout that process.

Brethertons CEO Michael Dibben explains,

“We spent a considerable amount of time and effort researching the legal technology market so that we made the right decision for the firm. Moving to a modern Microsoft platform gives us the latest technology foundation to support and accelerate the firm’s growth. The client centric, single platform approach provides us with the intelligence to deliver a personal and efficient service to clients. It also ensures we have absolute clarity of the firm’s position at any time.”

Arlene Adams, CEO of Peppermint adds,

“Having successful, growing firms like Brethertons join the Peppermint community is a true endorsement that Peppermint is delivering what firms need. Following an extensive evaluation process, Brethertons recognised the need to base their technology on an industry platform in order to future proof their investment and maximise their use of technology for competitive advantage.”
