BLP adopts LexisDraft to support focus on high quality work and reduce risks of incorrect documentation

LexisNexis200 [1]LexisNexis [2] UK (www.lexisnexis.co.uk [3]), a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced that international law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner [4] (BLP), has selected LexisDraft as the firm’s solution of choice for legal drafting and proofreading. LexisDraft is currently being used by almost 1,000 fee earners and support staff across the firm to proofread documents.

BLP chose LexisDraft for its market leading suite of proofreading tools, ease of implementation and complementary fit with the firm’s existing processes. Based on the efficiency and productivity gains being derived in the London office, BLP has extended the product to international jurisdictions where there is a requirement for English law document creation.

“We, as a client-centric organisation, are always looking for innovative technology to enhance our processes and improve our ways of working,” explained David Wood, head of business projects at BLP. “LexisDraft fits in perfectly with our working practices – we faced no resistance in the firm to use the tool as fee earners and secretaries alike instantly saw the business value of the solution.”

In the last year, over 50 law firms have embraced LexisDraft to help with document production and lawyer productivity. The tool is supporting fee earners to stay focused on delivering high quality work to clients whilst mitigating risks associated with incorrectly constructed documents. The solution also serves as a collaboration tool – both between fee earners and secretaries, and for knowledge sharing between lawyers – as it allows users to insert comments and notes to draw attention to critical aspects of text in documents.

“We are delighted with the pace of adoption of LexisDraft by law firms,” commented Christian Fleck, managing director, LexisNexis UK. “LexisDraft is expressly designed to help immensely pressured lawyers create the high quality documents their clients expect. We are committed to developing products and services that deliver measurable value in this competitive legal market place.”
