An update from Conscious Solutions on all that’s been happening in the last few months:

New client/project wins
September and October have seen us win the following projects:-

1 × Intranet
2 × Mobile Websites
2 × SEO audits
3 × SugarCRM projects
3 × Print design projects
3 × Social media training sessions
3 × Makeovers for existing clients
7 × Websites for new law firm clients

So, just in case you had us in the “Web designers” bucket, you can see we are a much broader based agency than that.

On The Road
The last two months have taken us all over the country at various legal sector events, many of them where we were speaking. Many have been written up on our blog such as the 360 Legal Annual Conference, APIL Business Conference, Law Society National Property Conference and the Legal Futures: New Business Models for the Bar seminar.

Full details of where we will be next are on our website.

Christmas Marketing
It’s got to be. Doubtless you had your own staff party booked weeks ago, but what about marketing for your own business around the Christmas period? Get some ideas from What we are talking to law firms about. N.B. The Flash games are my favourite….even if they do not work on Apple devices!

Legal IT/Marketing Events Calender
We’ve mentioned this a number of times on LinkedIn, but in case you’ve missed it, have a look here on our blog. If you have events of your own to add please let me know your Google account email address and I’ll set you up with permission.

(Not provided)
If you or one of your team are confused about what’s going on with the data provided by Google Analytics in terms of what Google is (or is not) providing any more with regards to search keywords used to get to your website, read on.

Team Changes
The last month or so has seen us add one member of staff and replace one we lost to the “big smoke”. Georgia Baker joins us as a Web Editor Assistant and Dave Rolf replaces our previous Marketing & Sales Executive who was wooed by the bright lights of London (been there, done that!!)

The skills shortage in law firms is the biggest threat to handling cybercrime

CLC Roundtable discussion at Malmaison Hotel, Charterhouse Square

The skills shortage in our businesses is the biggest threat to our industry when looking at cybercrime. Cybercriminals are not just after money but are looking for sensitive information too, so the legal services sector is an obvious target. In the last year we have had reports of around £7m of client money being lost to such crime. This is not an IT issue and it should not be left to the IT teams to sort out. It is a high-level responsibility and a board-level issue that must be taken seriously. We suspect that we will look back on 2016 and ask why we didn’t respond quicker.
